Wait for us Tom! Around here we go!

E n 2002, Steven Spielberg brought us the movie Minority Report (highly recommended BTW). A science fiction movie (starring Tom Cruise) that deals with police in the future (year 2054) that can predict crimes and arrest the "criminals" before they are performed.

Beyond this part highly impossible (because it is based on predictions of the future), the movie introduces a lot of technological predictions that are immersive and certainly seem (Ian) absolutely unattainable.

D etail a couple of things going on in the film.

(A) interface (how to communicate) with a computer with holographic images projected into the air, that can be controlled with their own hands.

(B) Identification of a person who passes in front of a sensor (through their eyes), used in the film to project targeted advertising, but also to find it when it escapes police.

V et's look now we can achieve today with our current technology:

L as video game consoles have always had hard struggles between different production companies. A few years ago Nintendo launched its Wii console and shocked the world with your gaming system based on a motion sensor connected wirelessly.

After that Sony created a solution very similar (with some improvements) PlayStation called Move, which implements a camera that detects movement in some way by the remote controls (using the light having the control)

Finally Microsoft kicked the board with its driver "Kinect" for the Xbox 360.

The Kinect is a device that has a motorized swivel stand, three motion sensor cameras and four microphones that recognize individual voices.

With Kinect (and some games for now) the controller is the individual. Allows you to control your Xbox with your body (without sensors attached), making all parts (arms, legs and trunk) in an extension of the character on the screen ( Excellent! )

A oday people of http://evoluce.com in partnership with Microsoft utilizann Kinect drivers to adapt to a multi-touch system developed by the German company.
This allows you to manage Microsoft Windows by using the Kinect.

D e must add the new transparent LCD monitors, which allow us access to information and can see through the monitor (eg for possible windshield Car)

O holograms, for which techniques are being considered "playable Holography," a way to get "feelings" touch to interact with holograms.

Ultimately everything is going to give in a few years, the dream of Steven Spielberg finally ceases to be and get to have something similar to the prediction (A) of the film.

E n the issue of detecting people who are compared to a computer or television, we have the Toshiba company has announced the launch of a monitor with facial recognition system.

E stamos talking about technology that recognizes that I'm the one who stands before the TV or computer, and accordingly shows me my own desk or advertising custom that may be interested.

Therefore the prediction (B) does not seem so distant.

Ultimately science fiction is going deeper into our daily lives (whether we like it or not) be having any of these things in our homes on 10 or 15 years.

As I say in the title:

Tom Wait for us! (Cruise) By here we go!
